[Opinions] WDYTO Dresden?
Usually I'm not one for place names but Dresden on a boy has really appealed to me recently. I originally saw the name used upon learning about the dance music artists "Gabriel and Dresden". A quick Wikipedia check has confirmed that there is a great deal of World War two history involving the city, but do you think that this would affect your opinions on the name aspect? So, WDYT? Any mn suggestions? :D

To be honest, I can't see what's good about it. Maybe because I'm German :-)
But I don't like place names anyway, so that makes be even more biased.
The German pron. is DRES-den btw.

As someone who lived in Germany (independently, e.g. not affiliated with military) I never could. Bombing doesn't cover it. It was nearly blown off the planet. 80% destroyed and tens of thousands of civilans died. Obviously it is a vibrant city today, but things like the famous cathedral (Frauenkirche) only reopened last year! I defend the rights of parents to name children what they wish and objectively even like the sound of the word, but this one has a bit too much recent historical importance for me to feel easy about. This is still in some people's living memory. I would say it's at best ill-advised, at worst blatantly disrespectful.

I'd never name anyone Dresden because all I could think of is the bombing of the city during World War two. So I don't think it's a great name.Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts
