I don't find Octavia feminine or girly, rather the opposite, kind of snoody and cold. Maybe that's because I have a bad association with the name, I went to school with a very odd girl named Octavia who was a bit of a bully.

I haven't been too crazy about Octavia, but it has slowly been growing on me (e.g. Dorothy). Nice name overall!God bless,

Feminine? Yes. Girly? No. Octavia is a name that brings to mind a woman with great dignity and strength. A beautiful, stylish, elegant woman.

Yes, but not in the "pink ruffelles and ballet dancers"-kind of way. I think it's very feminine in the cool, aloof, and very elegant way. It's a lovely name.

Yes, butwhile I do think of Octavia as being very feminine, I also think of her as being very reserved, even rather cool, but with a hidden passionate streak. I think of her as a lovely librarian, wearing wool skirts and silk blouses buttoned to the chin, tiny glasses on her nose and her hair in a bun, who, when the library closes, really lets her hair down, if you take my meaning. ;-)I love Octavia, and prefer it as an excellent but sadly underused alternative to the enormously popular Olivia.~Lillian~
