What do you think of the name Milou (pronounced 'mee-LOO')?

I was hoping someone would say that! :) I hope it would age well, though. That's another worry, lol. Milou is adorable on a wee one, but what about an adult? If it doesn't age well enough as a first name, there's always the middle name spot!
Sadly, I've never seen 'The Fifth Element.' Leeloo is kinda cute, though!

I don't know, I can actually picture it on an adorable little toddler as well as an sweet and eccentric 50 something woman, haha.
Oh you must see The Fifth Element, I love that movie. I think that you would especially love Inva Mulla Tchakoa's song the 'Diva Opera' from it.

I will have to see the movie then. I'm always up for movie suggestions and right now I've been making a list of all the DVDs I want. If I see it the next time I go shopping, I'll definitely buy it.
I definitely like the suggestions of Milou Pearl and Milou Plum!
Charlotte gives Milou a very classical edge. I like it!
I might even consider Milou Inara because I've fallen head over heals for the music of Inara George. Inara has wonderful potential as a name, methinks.
And while I'm not too big on Anya, I think Anastasia Milou would sound fab!

Milou is a contraction of the names Marie and Louise, a kind of nickname, if you will. Prince Friso and his wife, Mabel, recently used it as one of the names for their little girl who was named after a 17th/18th century princess, Marie-Louise, Princess of Orange (also called Milou).
I thought it was a cute little contraction of a name and not too bizarre of one, however I didn't know if it would have enough substance to pass as a first name or if it were doomed to nickname-only status.

I really dislike it, to be perfectly frank--it seems very Euro-chic and twee to me.
