There is also a frenche variant in the French region of Charente, on the atlantic coast of France.
According to the French site of Jean Tosti this surname could come from the given name "André", "Andrew".
And possibly, I prtesume the eastern european Andron could probably come from greek "Andreas". Could it be possible?
