My name is Emily, and while I do think it is a nice name, it is way too popular. If you were to name your child Emily, she would be called Emily A. (or whatever) or Emily (ln) all her life. Trust me, I know this from experience. I know at least twelve girls named Emily (besides me) in my school, and I'm sure there are more.

The bright side is that because the name is so popular, no one ever pronounces or spells it wrong.
