I couldn't care less about the meaning. It's nice that it's known, and it's an interesting fact, but it has no bearing at all on the quality of the name for me (and for probably 99.9% of people, I'd guess). It's rather more relevant that it's ancient Roman, and that it was the name of Cassius Clay. Hey, if it was good enough for the Romans to use as a name..
Besides, how certain can you be that Roman cassus was the source word for this name? Whatever!

I think they go together well. I like Cassius Victor.
