It seems like so long ago we were only a family of three. Of course, those times were wonderful, but we knew that we had wanted more children as soon as Adria was born into our lives! Adria is now two years old, and so amazing. She has made Reed and I's lives so much brighter!
Adria still has her amazingly firey hair, and her stunning blue eyes are huge. She has the cutest personality now, she loves to run and play, she adores her dress up clothes, and is so so sweet. She loves to talk to anyone, and she makes friends easily. If she starts talking to someone and figures she likes him or her, she will grab the person's hand, and lead them over to play with her! Adria is also going to school now. She only goes two days a week, but she likes it so much. She has the most fun at the "experiment table", where the staff put a "mystery" something into the bucket of the table, like jello or legos, and then the kids play with it. Adria is also enjoying having Grandma around to play with her!
Reed's mother Margaret has moved in with us for a while. She and Alistair are planning to move closer to here, from Colorado, to be able to see their grandchildren more often. While they're working on the move, we said the Nana Margaret would be welcome to live here. So she's staying a few more months. It's really been quite a blessing, really, with a new baby, Nana can play with Adria and give her some attention while I take care of Tessa. And Margaret loves it here. Their house is a work in progress and looking lovely so far. Margaret has blue eyes and brown hair, and is so loving and helpful! She spoils the girls... But she doesn't let Adria get away with any trouble, either! She tells the sheriffs (Daddy or Mama) immediatley, especially when she starts running towards the cookie jar! She loves to play with the girls, both at once, when she can.
Our newest addition, Tessa Mirabelle Avery, has arrived! She was born on May 1, at 7 lb 2 oz and was 19 inches long. She is gorgeous, with chestnut hair (Whoo-hoo! Inherited from the Mama's side) and startling turquoise eyes, which must be a mix of the blues and greens in the family. Although her colorings look nothing like her sister, her face shape does. Tessie shares a room with Adria until we move add on to our house to accomodate our expanding family, and Adria couldn't be more pleased. She loves Tessa and is so gentle. Although sometimes she is frusturated with her crying, she adores being a big sister.
Tessa isn't a big crier, just cries, like any other newborn does. She eats fantastically, and sleeps okay, she's only two months old now, we can't really expect her to be perfect at it yet. She also adores her pacifier, loves mirrors, and giggles and cooes when being held. She is the perfect addition to our family.
One more new thing in the Avery household is our goldfish, Hope. Adria has a sudden facination with fish of any kind and colors, and we thought it would be nice to get her a present while she was anticipating the arrival of her baby sister. She likes to feed her, and sometimes will draw pictures of Hope, too. We tack them all up on the refridgerator for everyone to admire!
