I'm four months pregnant and we're looking for a name. Here are some we're discussing now.WDYT? Do you have any associations when you hear them? Also,all suggestions are more than welcome!

Welcome to the irrational workings of my mind:
David -- Nice classic. I don't know why but I always think "clean" when I hear the name David. An odd association I admit, but it seems squeaky-clean, in a good way.
Dominik -- Very nice. It has a lot of personality and reminds me of old world monastic retreats. Very evocative.
Ian -- I can't see an Ian being ugly. The name just makes that guy more attractive. Love it.
Jason -- zzzzzzzzz
Justin -- Justinian's boring little cousin.
Sebastian -- Very sophisticated, but fun at the same time -- a perfect combination of attributes.
Anika -- Sweet. Perfer Anneke, but it's probably location specific.
Barbara -- I love seeing names that have fallen out of use being rediscovered. While Barbara is not a personal favorite, I would love to meet a little Barbara one day.
Kylie -- I know this is an Australian aboriginal name. But all I can think of is cheesy pop star. Trendy. Here-today-gone-tomorrow. Fluffy. Insubstantial. Dime a dozen. You get the idea.
Sofia -- Another one? Trust me, this generation does not need another Sophia / Sofia. (--at least here in the U.S.)

David - Classic but rather dull.
Dominik - Unless you're Polish, Hungarian, etc. or planning to pronounce it the Polish way, I suggest Dominic and the DOM-ih-nik pronunciation.
Ian - Nice. A bit overused in some areas, but still nice, imo.
Jason - Overused in the 1970s and 1980s
Justin - Overused in the 1980s and 90s
Sebastian - Very nice
Anika - How are you going to pronounce this? I prefer the Annika spelling for some reason, and the ANN-ih-kah pronunciation. But Anika looks like it should be prn. ah-NEE-kah to me. :-/
Barbara - Not yet ready for a comeback, imo.

We don't live in an English speking country so most of these names are not that popular here and the spellings are the ones used ( so the child doesn't have to spell his/her name all the time).
