[Opinions] Heidi

Heidi Klum comes to mind.
So does Heidi the movie. I think it has too many preconceived notions behind it to be usable. I really dislike the name Alana for personal reasons. The only Alanna I've ever known was...pure evil. However, as a name I think it's okay, nms, but still acceptable. It's not very trendy either, which is always a bonus. I prefer the spelling Alanna.

I quite like Heidi, it is on my list. But I do think of lederhosen and Swiss people yodelling (sorry about my spelling) down the sides of mountains. This makes me wonder if I'd ever really use the name.
I've always really liked Heidi. Very sweet.
I do have to admit that I know a pretty awesome person named Heidi *wink wink* haha. I love my name. I went to school with a couple Heidi's (1 was a couple years older and one was a couple years younger). It's a rare enough name to not hear it everywhere you go and have to turn around because you think someone is calling you.
I really like the name Alanna. (prn ah-lawn-na).
Good choices!

I like Heidi quite a bit. Cute, not too often used name. If what you mean by "shirley temple" is too cutsey, no I don't think it is.
Haha, my dad wanted to name me Heidi - then my name would have been Heidi LaVerne [we are very German] but my mom wouldn't let him. So he tried Gretchen and she hated that too, and they settled on Ashley. Actually, I wouldn't have minded Gretchen, Ashley is okay, but theres about a bazillion other Ashley's, I can't go anywhere without having to be called 'Ashley Z' or 'Z!'
I think Heidi is alright (it definitely wouldn't have worked on me] but it is a bit too old for me.
Alana is okay as well. I like the spelling Alana or Alayna best. Alanna or Alannah makes it sound like 'Uh-Lawn-Uh' rather than 'Uh-Lane-Uh' unless you are going for the first pronounciation.

Actually I do prefer that prn. Sorry, about that, I should have been more clear.
Heidi: An earlier obsession with the sitcom Hi-De-Hi means I can no longer take this name seriously, it makes me want to adopt a Welsh accent and say "Hello Campers. Hi-de-hi!" a la Gladys Pugh. I probably wouldn't be able to resist the temptation to greet a woman called this with 'Heidi, hi.' It's very bad of me, I know, but I cannot ignore my British comedy background :)
I like the speeling Alana and pronunciation ah-LAH-nah only.

I like Heidi, and I didn't even realise it was connected to Shirley Temple. I like it by itself or as a nickname for Adelaide. I know someone called Heidi.
I like al-ANN-a spelled Alanna or Alannah, and a-LAH-na spelled Allana. I don't like the spelling Alana because I can't decide how to pronounce it.
