I want to like it because I like the flower so much, but the sound just seems very harsh imo. Plus, as Arcadia pointed out, it is derived from the Greek word for "testicle" so... no. I don't think so.

So glad you said Orchid! I've been thinking about this name a lot. I just got married and I wore white orchids in my hair. I loved the delicacy of the flower. And I think Orchid makes a lovely, yet offbeat, flower name. So yes, Orchid is beautiful!!!

I think it has been used as a name :) It would work just as good as the other flower names in my opinion.

I think it would work just as well as Rose or Daisy.
