We have found you four children.
Nikolai Adam and Aleksander Dmitri are newborn twins from Russia. Both are healthy and have a good set of lungs on them. Nikolai seems to be the quieter of the two, content to look at mobiles or bright wallpaper for quite some time. Aleksander prefers to be carried around the house wherever you go.
Anna Isabelle and Sophia Elisabeth are one-and-a-half-year-old twins from Germany. They don't speak much yet but what they do say is all in English. Both girls are shy and quiet, and prefer to observe situations for a while before joining in. When they get to know you, they are very loving and enjoy being held and read to. Anna adores books of all kinds, and Sophia loves to draw with washable crayons.

Hello!
It has been 1 year since RJ, Shannen, and I welcomed Nikolai Adam "Niko", Aleksander Dmitri "Alek", Anna Isabelle "Anna Belle" and Sophia Elisabeth "Soph" into our family.
Niko and Alek just celebrated their first birthday last week! They are definately very loud little boys, but we love them to death! Shannen loves helping to take care of them.

Jia Lian is a six-month-old baby from China. She was dropped off at the orphanage because her parents wanted a boy. She is alert and active and loves to crawl around (or try, she hasn't quite mastered it yet). She loves people and will thrive in an active environment.
Yekaterina Anastasiya "Katya" is a four-year-old from Russia. She is hearing impaired and will need hearing aids as soon as possible. Her speech is delayed, but she is very good at communicating with gestures. She LOVES to look at books, and also enjoys art projects.

We have found you two children.
Anne Gabrielle is a six-year-old girl from France (she speaks fairly good English). Her abusive mother killed her father and is now in prison. Because of this, Anne is extremely shy and withdrawn. She doesn't trust adults at all and can be very difficult. She is terrified of being adopted, but after seeing a picture and description of you she was slightly reassured. She will need a lot of time and care, and possibly therapy, to help her open up. She should probably be sent to a smaller school, if not put in a special education class.
Sofia Linnea is a four-year-old girl from Sweden with severe cerebral palsy. She cannot walk or talk and uses a wheelchair with an artificial voice generator. Her mental capacity is unaffected, though, and she is very bright and loves to learn new things. She wears hearing aids which restore her hearing to normal, but is mostly deaf without them. She is a little wary of people at first because her parents abandonded her because of her disability, but once you earn her trust she is very loving and sweet.

Thank you Julia! (6 months later)
Anne, who we have affectionately started calling Anna, is struggling with all the people visiting her. We have a very loving neighborhood, to a fault almost, and it was very difficult for me to convince them that they couldn't come over to see her. When some did anyway, Anna was very spooked and cried in her bed for the rest of the day. I home schooled her for a while, teaching her more English with the help of my French studies all through school. She is now going to a special-ed first grade class and is responding well to that. I think that for third grade I will be able to put her in public school. We did not set her up with a therapist, because she was so petrified of the doctor! As for our relationship, she was deathly afraid of me for the first few weeks, but now we get along pretty well. She gets really emotionally overwhelmed and has severe tantrums, but who can blame her? Overall she's beating the odds.
Sofia is doing well too. It was helpful to have her here with Anna so she wasn't alone in a world of adults. We also had to convince our neighbors to leave her alone, though when the few obstinate friends showed up, she wasn't as traumatized. Now, 6 months later, she is very happy and popular with her voice generator, wheelchair, and hearing aids. She will be starting kindergarten next year and is very excited! I was consistently amazed by her mental capacity while teaching her English. When people see her, they think she will be mentally handicapped, but they are astounded when they actually meet her. I am considering getting her a parakeet soon – I think she would love it and it would be a great pet for her. Sofia loves the idea. She is a very positive influence in Anna's life and mine.

This fall, the quadruplets started kindergarten. They are all doing very well and love reading books!
Eleanor Violet, who we call Ellie, has definitely found her voice! She loves to talk and will start a conversation with just about anyone. She loves her ballet classes with Elisa.
Clara Elisabeth, who we call Elisa to help with the confusion between Claire and Clara, is still very quiet and shy. She has made new friends in kindergarten, but her best friends are still her siblings.
Oliver James is definitely active! We signed him up for swimming lessons, soccer, basketball, and baseball, but he still never tires out. He loves being outside, and seems to bring home every rock in the neighborhood! He also loves animals, but we haven't gotten him anything quite yet.
Charlotte Grace "Lottie" still loves playing in the bathtub. She turned out not to need many swimming lessons, so we enrolled her in the swim team, and she loves it! She still enjoys playing outside with Oliver and getting dirty, and is definitely our tomboy. We put her in ballet, but she hated it!
We will probably be visiting England sometime next year. The kids can't wait to go back!
