[Opinions] Sundance
I was watching American Idol lastnight and a contestant from Memphis came on who was named Sundance. He was between the age 22-25 years. He talked about his name, just saying his parents were hippies. He wasn't half bad of a singer either.WDYT of Sundance. I kind of like it. Id use it more as a middle name. However, I dont really have a big problem with it as a first name and I think my Sundance would go by Sunny if it was a firstname.

I saw this episode as well. It reminded me of a math teacher I had in middle school. He was the hippie type as well. He had two grown sons named "Rainbow Sky" and "Sunshine". I couldn't imagine being an adult male (or a child for that matter) with these names. They went by "Beau" and "Sonny".

There has been a bar and an apartment complex called Sundance in the towns where I have lived. Also I think of the film festival.

The Sundance Kidhttp://imdb.com/title/tt0064115/I think it would be an incredibly difficult name to live with. I know someone who named their child Bud Light - before the beer. Bud for bud of a flower, Light as in the sun. Didn't work.I also think of the Sundance Film Festival. So: No.

Sundance Film Festivalis all I can think of. I dont know if I could ever see past that, but if I could, its two words "sun" and "dance" put together. I dont like word names in general and the teasing dancing sun is coming to mind. Sunny is kind of cute, but it goes back to the kids personality (I described this a little with Romeo into threate a while back). What if Sunny wasnt exactly sunny? I use sunny to describe someone who is always cheerful, energetic - the like.

I watched that too. I also saw that when his name came across the bottom of the screen it had it listed as Jason "Sundance" Head. I don't know if he legally changed his name or if Sundance was just a nickname his parents gave him. I kinda like it. I just think that I would use it as a middle name, and not a first name.
