[Opinions] Karen
What do you think of the name Karen? I know that some people think that it's too dated/boring, but lately I've been liking this name.

I really like Karen, but do worry about it being dated. I work with 3, all over 40. Karenna (like Al Gore's daughter) is a nice alternative but I don't think people would be that surprised to hear about its re-emergence.

I think it's cute. Yes, it did hit its peak some decades ago, but it is still reasonably popular that a young Karen wouldn't feel like she had an old-lady name. The youngest Karen I know of (actually, she's a Karin) is about nine.

If you go to mexico yo'ull see Karens of all ages. LOL

It's ok, considering that here in Mexico it's sooooooooooo comun, really, over here you'll come a cross a skinny Karen , a dumb Karen, a blacked hair Karen, etc. A comun combo is Ana Karen, nice but a bit to popular.

I never liked it until I saw, "Out of Africa." If pronounced "KAH-ren" then it's lovely. But I know that pronunciation might not survive here in the US. Well, "KARE-un" is nice too. I like to see names revived so why not?

I think it's very nice. There's something very "friendly" about it.

I'm one of those people that finds it too boring. I think it's painfully dull. I feel a bit guilty for disliking it so much--there's nothing really wrong with it, after all--but it's blandness has a certain way of really bugging me.

I have a cousin named Karen.I'm biased of course, but when I think of Karen, I picture someone cute and rather spunky, a really fun person. It may seem dated, but sometimes it just really fits a person well.I like it. =)

Don't get me wrong it's perfectly respectable, but I went to school with so many of them that I'm just tired of hearing it. I think it's past its prime.:o)

I don't really like it. As a child I had a friend named Karen and when I first met her I thought it was too old a name for a child. It isn't terribly dated, though.

I don't dislike it at all but perhaps you could give it a little oooomph by changing the spelling or giving a version of it.You could spell it Karin (the Swedish way.
I like Karina.

I want to like it, but there's a personal association in the way. :P Karen is the name of this incredibly irritating, icy, and vain girl who is dating my friend and has him completely wrapped around her finger. She's ruined the name for me, but it'd be rather sweet on a little girl (who isn't mine :P).

I don't like this spelling of Karen at all, but I like Karin and Kara

It reminds me of a 40 year old women, its not a bad name though I guess, I have only ever met 40 year old women named Karen, there was a girl in highschool named Karen but I didn't really know her, I just knew OF her (if that makes sense) she'd be about 22 or 23 now.

I actually like the way Karen sounds but I much prefer other spellings because the Karen spelling seems dated to me and sort of old. I prefer Carin, Karin, Caryn or Karyn.

I think it seems really old fashioned and dated but I am really starting to like it and accept it more. There was a character named Karen in "Mean Girls" and on e half of the designing duo "Marchesa" is named Keren Craig. I think I prefer it with the e
