[Opinions] Dinah?
WDYT? Spunky? Dated? Will it grow up well? Anyone remember the song and automatically relate it to the name?

There will of course be references to the song, though she may fare slightly better than a Clementine, I think. :) I really love it, though, but only prn. DYE-nah (not DEE-nah).
I think Dinah is a classic. I don't relate it to any song at all. It'll defintely age well.
Does "I've Been Working on the Railroad" ring a bell?
"Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah" :b

I think of the cat in Alice in Wonderland, but I love it. It is spunky and cute, yet I think it will age well.
I like it. My only association with it is the cat in Alice in Wonderland.
I love this name. I think it is cute yet will age quite well. It's a favorite of mine/
It's pretty. But the story behind the name is too sad to my taste. By the way, I pron. it the Hebrew way, deen-ah. :)
I don't know the song - and I think I prefer the spelling Dina.

It makes me think of a few Dinahs...the song "Dinah, is there anyone finer...", Dinah Washington, and Dinah Shore. I really like it, and don't feel its dated. It's definately a good name for all ages. I'm surprised it's not more popular.
I do automatically think of the song "Dinah" as performed by Dhango Reinhardt, but I suspect that's not quite what you mean. :)
Dinah is a very snappy little name--after the song, I'm reminded of Alice's kitten in Alice in Wonderland. I wish there were more little girls named Dinah, because it's just lovely.
