Love it. I have to giggle because a good friend of mine in college used to ask if I liked the name -- every day! She drove me crazy with it, but I still like the name. She named her first son Alec, by the way. I can't recall what mn she used, though.

I love Alec as a fn for a boy! I'm also hugely tiiiiired of 'Alexander'...! I never liked that name! But Alec is great! It's unique and cool and fits a young boy aswell as grown-up man. I'd also consider Alec as a fn for (one of my) future son(s)! :-)

I love Alec-I prefer it a bit to Alex. Alec sounds handsome.

I find Alex (or Alec) too short for a full name. Not to mention I really loathe getting rid of the classic name and just using the nn as a full name. ALSO, I really loathe all Alex names in general.

I love Alec! It's my favorite name for a boy and I don't like Alexander, and I can't stand Alex. I'm really bad with combos so I can't give you any suggestions. I'm glad you posted this message so I know I'm not the only one loving Alec.
