What do you think of this name? Do you think it sounds dated by now? I always think of Christine as sounding rather dated (though I still like it) but Christina seems more timeless.

And which spelling do you prefer? This is one of the few names where I really don't have a problem with any of the regularly accepted spellings. I could use either of the three and be fine. I know there are other spellings but these 3 are the most popular.

Opinions?

I love less-is-more Christine. Christina has a slightly "goody-goody" sound to it. Christine sound more like a sophisticated woman.

I prefer "C" variants for female names, rather than "K" variants. But Kristine is fine, too.

Not a big fan of the name because I do think it's dated, but if I had to choose, I'd pick Cristina. It's how I'm used to seeing it spelled.

I think all three are wonderful names that are currently a bit tainted by dated-ness. I plan on ignoring this, however...Cristina is my middle name, and as my fn is my mom's mn, I'm considering giving it to my first daughter. Cristina is after my middle-aged aunt Maria Cristina, and the name is much more classic/timeless in Spanish-speaking countries, so it doesn't feel dated to me personally...though I know it certainly has that image. Anyhow, I think it's lovely.

I really like the name Christina. I, too, find it to be a timeless classic...a very feminine name that has a lovely sound to it. I like the spellings Christina & Cristina. Both are appealing to me, but the "K" spelling does nothing for me.

I love Christina. It was one of the top choices for our daughter. I would probably prefer the spelling Christina, but Kristina is nice too. Not crazy about Cristina, it looks a bit incomplete.

I don't find it dated either. I tend to think of Christine as being a bit dated, because I don't know any that are my age or young, but it's not really out of style either.

I like Christine best, partly because I have a loathing of the nn Tina, which is more likely to come out of Christina and Kristina.
I also know a horrible Christina, who has tainted the name pretty thoroughly. I like Cristina though.
Kristina looks misspelled to me, even though I know it's not, because I'm used to lots of C names being changed to Ks.

My name is Cristina and I have always loved it. I was born in 1980, so it does have an 80's feel to me, but I loved the 80's, so it's not a bad thing. :)
