[Opinions] Ashlea?!?
I'm ok with Ashley and Ashleigh.
Ashlee is nmsaa. I've now come across Ashlea. It's the same prn. as the others. I think it's horrible. WDYT?

I agree....Ashlea is a horrible spelling. Ashley and Ashly are the best ways to spell that name.

In my hometown there are numerous Ashley's Ashlee's Ashleighs, and at least one Ashlea (g) and also an Ashlie (g).

I knew a girl named Ashlea in elementary school. People used to make fun of her name all the time and call her ash-LEAH. I really don't like the spelling, but I think anything besides Ashley looks plain weird.

I prefer Ashley for a boy or a girl (more so for a boy)

It's better than Ashleigh. I'll never understand the leigh spelling. It's just so ugly. My ranking would be:1. Ashley
2. Ashlea
3. Ashlee
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10. Ashleigh

It makes the same 'EE' sound as Kelsea and Chelsea, so although I don't like the name Ashley to begin with, it doesn't seem too weird to me.

It kind of looks like ash-lay-ah or ash-lee-ah. It's okay, but I prefer Ashley.

I think it's horrible too.

They're all legitimate variations in the way the same language element is spelled, so I think they're all fine. I appreciate that at least Ashlea seems meant to indicate a female reliably. Ashleigh and Ashlee are less appealing than Ashlea, IMO.

Ashlea and Ashleigh are both nmsaa. Both look like an attempt for creativity. I'm not fond of Ashlee, either.Ashlea, Ashleigh, Ashlee, Ashley... no matter how it's spelled, I don't like it.

I don't think it's that terrible considering that "Lea" can be pronounced "Lee". I don't like Ashlea though Ashley is a guilty pleasure of mine.

That's how the kids who I babysit think I spell it :0Any card I get from the kids I babysit always has my name spelled "Ashlea" or "Ashleah," (they're little so their mom writes it). It's okay though, as they never see my name written anywhere so they really wouldn't know, but if someone would tell me their name was Ashley I usually guess they spell it Ashley.

Ugh. Ashlee reminds me of Ashlee Simpson, which is not a good thing imo. I also hate all spellings with 'lea'. I went to school with a girl named Holea. That's Holly, I kid you not.Ashleigh would be my spelling of choice, but I cannot stand the name.

I love Ashley on a boy. It sounds very masculine to me. It's nmsaa on girls, no matter what the spelling.

I don't see how Ashleigh...Is somehow better than Ashlea. Each makes about as much sense as the other. No matter the spelling, I dislike the name.Array

Ashleigh is the most common spelling here, so it seems as conventional as Ashley to me. I still hate it. Kayleigh is our most popular spelling of that name, too - we seem to have a "leigh" fetish.

terrible. Ashley is a masculine name and should have stayed that way.

I actually think Ashlea is slightly better than Ashlee and Ashleigh. But there is no way to make this name original so it seems silly to try, doesn't it?
