I like both Jeremiah and Jeremy very much, though Jeremiah's rarer than Jeremy. But why nn Jeremiah Jeremy? Both are legit forms of the same name, but to me they're sufficiently different from each other to make Jeremy as a nn for Jeremiah seem rather pointless and--oddly, I admit--something of a stretch. Imo, just name him Jeremy.
