[Opinions] Diana?
What do you think of the name Diana? How do you picture a girl with this name to look like? What do you think her personality would be like?

i think its a nice name. i see her as a cheerleader/gymnast type, friendly, nice person, but then i do have a cousin name diana and the only way i could really describe someone with this name would be to describe her

Well my name is Diana. Diana Lynne to be exact. I am 18 years old. I guess it is a kind of "dated" name. But don't all names eventually get dated? Look at Lily, older ladies are named that as well as new borns and even more so look at the name Rose. Isla's description of Diana in her earlier post was "pretty, shy, intelligent, and caring", which describes me. I'm not trying to be conceded but most people say I'm pretty, I'm shy, I've always gotten good grades, and I am very emotional and caring. I have brown hair, blue green eyes, about 5'2, and weigh about 118. So there's a detailed description of someone with the name Diana. LoLAlso, with the whole Princess Diana thing. I like being named after a "princess". I used to have a SN PrincessDi. The NN I go by the most is Di. A little girl I know calls me Di Di. I also had people in school call me Dee. I also have those NN's that are just for fun like Di-Zee and Di-Nee (don't know how I would sp. them so I just wrote how they're pron.).

i've never really thought of you as being shy, really. but then i guess you dont always see your family members as other people do

It's a beautiful name, but associations of Princess Diana would discourage me from using it. I had (still have) nothing against her -compared with most modern royals, who annoy me enormously - but the saint-like status that came after her death is a little nauseating to me. She was also far too paranoid. And, in Britain at least and possibly other countries too, she'd be the first association many people have on hearing the name.

Love it! Makes me think of Princess Diana, or someone who's pretty, shy, intelligent, and caring.

I see the name both as somewhat dated, but nowhere near as much as say the form Diane or another name like Barbara. I think I could picture this on a little girl, because I personally feel its one name that could come back. The only truly "dated" names I like are Karen ('cause it's my mother's name) and Heather (because I just like it for some reason!).

I like the name but would probably not use it, middle name maybe. I picture an athletic girl with long brown hair and a very outgoing, spunky attitude with a positive outlook on everything. Everyone's friend.

Diane is my mom's middle nameAnd I honestly think of her age group, or a middle-aged woman. Diana is every so slightly dated, I think. I don't like or dislike the name, but I wouldn't use it. As for personality, down-to-earth, intelligent, feminine.Siri

My aunts name is Diana. To me the name seems dated, I just can't picture a little girl with this name.
