Hey, good idea!I will add that.

Way cool, Mike! Interesting to see that we have some scarcity of names in ethnicities that are easy to supplement with meanings off the Net: Cornish (great language for names!), Turkish, and Latvian are three easy ones. Would you like us to work on bee

Submissions always welcome...... and much appreciated. If you want to make my part of the job really easy, format the names as in this example:Michael - (m) "who is like God?" (Hebrew)
Mike - (m) Short form of [Michael ]
Michaela - (f) Feminine form of [Michael ]
Kim - (f,m) ...etc.
Surround the names that you are linking to with [square brackets].Thanks!

Regarding Esperanto names...On the 'net, Esperantists regularly substitute the letter "x" following a letter in an Esperanto word which would normally require a circumflex or breve over the letter. Can you put the circumflex and/or breve back into the word, if I include a note with each submitted entry, indicating over which letter the accent mark belongs? I know you've been doing other accent marks for names on your site. And, yes, there really do exist bona fide Esperanto names. :) Many are "esperantized" versions of names common to most European nations, such as John (Johano), Susan (Suzana), Michael (Mihxaelo, Mikaelo, Mikelo), Mary (Maria, Amara), etc. But there are also quite a few names which Esperantists have taken for themselves or have given to their children, which are actually Esperanto words, such as Aminda (lovable), Amika (friendly), and Miela (honey-sweet).-- Nanaea

Nan,
If you would like to submit Esperanto names that would be great.Regarding accents: I can and will do circumflexes but not breves. For a complete list of the accents possible in HTML see this page:

Yippee! This is gonna be fun!!!!

Ditto! :)Then I'll be able to find 6-letter names easily! You know, for my 6-6-6, first-middle-lastname combinations. Woo-hoo! :)-- Nanaea

Coming of the Anti-X?6-letter words are in fact the most frequent names on BtN (accounting for 24.6%! Bwahahahahhah!
Bring forth thy satanic opus(http://www.behindthename.com/messages/2742.html) :))))

Satanic Opus? Why do I picture a big-nosed neurotic penguin with horns?

Aw...little Nan! This is like the standard TV series flashback episode!:P

Does mean we're near the end of the season?

Aw... You bookmarked my first-ever posting on this board. :) That was back in the days when you were CheBanana/Paul Pan.-- Nanaea

Cant help being the nostalgic type hehe. Also remember the cranky exorcism of Hid Diva which drew your satanic majesty to this board in the first place ( http://www.behindthename.com/messages/2659.html ) :P

I owe my very existence to Daividh's crankiness! He is the Master Conjurer!
vote up1vote down
Ah, but I owe the inspiration for my eventual web page to Nan's chastising me for being "butthole cranky" (no, it's not on the message board). The new site is registered as CrankyDave.com . Thanks, Ms. P!

Hey, cool! You parked it before anyone else could nab "CrankyDave.com"!I like that domain name! And, of course, I'm sure you knew this was coming...ANAGRAMS of CrankyDave.com!My Dark Concave
Crack-Day Venom
My Cancer Vodka
Mad, Cocky RavenAny of which could possibly make good band names, with "Crack-Day Venom" being my favorite. :)-- Nanaea

As Dave Barry might say, "Crack-Day Venom" IS a good name for a rock band!I might suggest it to my daughter's friends, who have a pretty good bar band but won't break into the Big Time if they continue to call themselves "Funky Witch Kids".

Does your kid's band rock harder than Jose & the Pussycats?

Internet and Privacy: contradiction in terms? :P
vote up1vote down
Yeah, I think so. That's why you make sure "whois" has a mailing address, e-mail, and phone [cell] that won't intrude on your privacy. None of those I posted will reach my home or family, and I don't live in Berea, KY anyway. Shame one has to
