[Opinions] Arabic Names
My friend Jessenia Mohammed needs an arabic name for her new little sister/brother soon, its supposed to be born sometime in January or February...but Jessenia would like to get started on names...now!-Heres some information that you might need, I posted it last time...!This is what I posted last time if you didn't read it:As I came across my friend Jessenia Mohammed's family, I didn't think that their names were all arabic until she told me at her sleepover party last night the complete names...heres her Arabic Family(Lives in Canada, Jessenia was born in Saudi-Arabia and her whole family moved to Canada when she was only 1...)Dad: Anass Munir Mohammed
Mom: Amira Leilah Mohammed
Son: Jabril Munir Mohammed (17 years old)
Daughter: Jessenia Khalilah Mohammed (12 years old)
Daughter: Khadija Surayya Mohammed (11 years old)
Daughter: Zaira Shakira Mohammed (9 years old)
Son: Tarek Parvin Mohammed (4 years old)
Another is on the way...!
The Mohammed Family has a custom that each child gets to name a child but the last child instead of choosing another childs name, they get to choose their middle name when they are older-thats what Jessa's mom told me!
But Since Jessa's sister Khadija Surayya was born even in the same year as Jessa that Jessa didn't even know how to talk. So since she never got to name a child yet, she gets to name the child, only one thing...she needs suggestions and she wants it to be some kind of Arabic or English or some name thats sort of like Arabic names, that would go into her family nice and something for both genders. Anyways so she has no idea what to call the baby, I suggested Sarai Zinaida Mohammed and Tamid Shaelomeh (Came originally from Shalom, pronounced Shay, lum, ay)...wdyt?Thx, Seija R and Jessa M.P.S.She only had two suggestions so far...and some of her ideas are:
A Name of a city in Saudi Arabia...
-Riyadh(Jessenia and Khadija were born here)
-Medina(Jabril was born here)
-Mecca
-Jidda(Her parent slived here before Jabril was even born)
-Tabuk
-Tebuk
-Dharma(Reminds me of Dharma & Greg)
-Jebel(Shammar)
-Hanakiya(Moved here just before they moved to Canada)
-Shaqra
-Dilam
-JizanThats it and JESSA WANTS YOUR SUGGESTION-P.S.She waqnts some kind of Arabic Name!

Weird, my Arabic friend was from Saudi Arabia (duh) and also moved to Canada before coming here. Anyway, his name is Omar, which I always liked. How about Omar for a boy and Hana for a girl?

I put that it was Seija and Jessa answering this just so you know who I am, but it's really just me, Jessa.I know a few Canadian Arabians but not very many. A few are Alia Nasir is my mothers friend and Haytham Nasir is her husband, they have 3 children. Their names are Jamil, Karima and Faraz which Karima and I have been friends since I was born. Our mothers met in the Khayrihan Hospital in Medina and moved they moved to Canada a year after us. I like the names Jamil and Karima so I am also thinking about Jamila Karima for a girl and Karim Jamil or vice versa for a boy/girl. I am also consdering names of relatives such as Munira and Mustafa is my grandmothers names and Khayri and Jamaal as our grandfathers names. My brother said to me he sad a good friend in Saudi Arabia that moved to Canada but lost contact, his name was Hakim Soner-Shammar or something around such a name. Faraz is also on my list as the little brother of Jamil and Karima. I have been blessed with this honour to name my sibling but I have yet not any idea what they shoud be named. Jessenia Mohammed(Jessa or Jessie M.)

I don't think I can help, I don't like many Arabic names... Most of them are weird or just not pretty to me.
What about: Aaliyah, Akilah, Alina, Amal, Anisa, Fairuza, Farah, Hala, Hana, Haniyya, Isra, Layla (Hebrew to me, but yeah), Lina, Naila, Nur, Parvin, Rana, Ranya, Rim, Roshan, Sabah, Sabeen, Zahra, Zaida, Zakiyya, Zuleika.
I also find most Persian names pretty: http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?terms=persian&nmd=d&gender=both&operator=or
