Pavlos may be right; Synesius may have Greek origins but, it almost has to be a Latin variation. I'm not familiar with that particular name but most names with an IUS ending are Latin.

Usually Greek names ending with -ios are rendered in Latin with an -ius. Examples include my patron god Priapos (Gr) - Priapus (Lat.).

Synesios is derived from the Greek word "synesis" meaning "intelligence, sagacity". The name is also recorded in "A
Lexicon of Greek Personal Names" of Oxford University.
