Melisande...wdyt?
I'm not keen on Millicent, but love this- it's also very close to my name, Melissa. Is it usable today, and would it be pretentious to give to a future DD as a mn? some combos I likeAva Melisande
Phoebe Melisande
Zoe Melisandeany others?

With Melisande... it's a beautiful name, but it's the S&M-dominatrix villian of a series of very popular fantasy books. The Kushiel (and upcoming Imriel) trilogies, Jacqueline Carey. Judging by the number of people I've encountered reading these, there are a bunch of others who's associate the name the same way... probably not a good thing, without at least knowing the kid.

I like this a lot! It is a pretty form of Melissa, which I also really like. Ava Melisande is very nice.

I love Melisande, but not with the fns you mentioned. I like Array's suggestion about Flora Melisande though.

Melisande is a bit fashionable in France (Middle Ages trend and all). It's a very nice name. I would use it with another Middle Ages sounding name, like Aveline, Alienor, Blanche, Clarice...

I don't care for Melisande. It just looks like a poorly embellished form of Melissa (which I like). I do like Millicent, and I would see nothing wrong with using it. Millicent is lovely.

Melisande is wonderful! I had a character named Melisande. She was called Melly, and her sister was Bianca.I think Phoebe Melisande is nice. What about Flora Melisande?Array

Melisande is quiet pretty, especially as a middle name for something short. Ava Melisande is great.
