Julianna
Heard the name Julianna today as well. What do you think, pretty or jumbled mess. I am growing more and more fond of it the more I say it, but I would never use it. (My DH's step-mother's name is Julie, and oh, God can you imagine the wrath we would get from his mother? eek!) Anyway, just wondered what you thought.

I like Juliana, or just Julian, for a girl. I'm not too keen on the spelling Julianna though - it makes the name seem like a combination one (which is nms), and more modern than it really is.

I think Julianna is lovely and complete looking. Juliana looks very incomplete and lacking to me.

I don't think it's cluttered, it just has a slight look of a (possibly dated) combination name like Marilyn, Carolyn, Rosemarie, Leanna etc.I like it a lot.. think it's gorgeous. I like Juliana (pron. Julie-AH-na) a little better though, and Julia alone even better. I agree you need to spare yourselves the grandmother's reaction to using any Julie name though :-( Have you thought about Judith? - chazda

HahaThat's my DH's mother's name! :) My father-in-law won't be too keen on that either. Funny you suggested that though! :)

I'm going to have to go with Miranda on this one. Juliana's nice, but Julianna is superfluous. Though there is a slight variation in the way I pronounce the names, it's not very noticeable (or at least, I don't think it is).~*Clippy*~

Juliana's fine and lovely, but Julianna's cluttered imo. The extra N is just superfluous in my accent (I pronounce both Juliana and Julianna the same), and looks mildly kre8iv to me since Juliana's the original spelling.Miranda
