I think it is a ahame that such a beautifull girl (on ER) has such a terrible name! I love ER but I have that name!

I don't think it sounds any more masculine than it does feminine. I dislike W- names, but at least on a woman it gives the option of Wendi as a nn, which is quite sweet.

It seems to me that the parents wanted a full name to use the nn Wendy. Wendall is awful on a girl, sounds dumb and masculine. Wendy is very nice as a full name on the other hand.

I just think of that song "Mr Wendall" by Arrested Development (anyone else remember than one?!)
I suppose nn Wendy could feminise it but no, it's def a surname or a boys name

I've only known it to be a masculine name. Don't like it for a girl.

I don't like it much on anyone--it sounds very surnamey. Plus, it reminds me of the comic strip Baby Blues. Bunny, the oh-so-perfect neighbor, has twins and names them Wendell John and Wendell Jon.I like Gwendolen, though, and I even like Wendy a bit--but I prefer Windy and Winnie.Array

I only see it as a male name, as I know a man named Wendell (with that spelling). I don't care for the name (it's just odd sounding to me), but Wendy would have worked (although I don't care for that name as, again, for sound reasons).
