I personally prefer Oskar. Oskar makes me think of Liam Neeson (he played Oskar Schindler) while Oscar makes me think of Oscar the Grouch, the messy half of The Odd Couple and a baby stolen from his mother's womb.

I really like Oskar. However, people might think it's a tryndee respelling if you have a surname that's obviously English.

I don't care for the name, as I don't think it's a strong name. If associations bother you (they don't me), I think of Oscar the Grouch and Oscar Madison from Neil Simon's play The Odd Couple.
