wdyt of Dora...
As a first name? Is it too "Dora the Explorer" or rare classic to you? I think it's sweet and it would honor my mother, Dorothy. Thanks

It's a nice name but it it's too "Dora the Explorer" (unless she is born when the show is no longer broadcasted or when the show is no longer popular).

I cannot tell a lie, I also started humming that Dora the Explorer song in my head. But, I do really like the name, and particularly Dori as a nickname. I say use it.

Dora is lovely, and definitely a rare classic! I'd love to see it being used!

I see it as more of a rare classic, and a great way to honor your mom too. And who knows how long Dora the Explorer will be around. I wouldn't let that deter you from using it. :)

I prefer Norah ^^...(m)Dora is quite nice, though, and not too over-done.

I don't care for it, and I don't really know why. I don't find it pretty, and it's a little harsh sounding to me. I don't think of the TV Dora the Explorer, but if people did, who cares? Since it would honor your mother, in a way, I'd suggest using it as the middle name.

I like it.I know a young woman named Theodora who goes by Dora. Her parents are Greek and the father wanted a name that means "gift of God." I like Dora on its own, or as a nn for Theodora, Isidora, Dorothea. I think the nn Dorie is cute too.
