Molly
Last night I was watching a movie and I mistakenly thought one of the character's names was Molly. What do you think of this name? I had never really thought much of it before but its growning on me.

I think it's sweet. But I used to have a dog named Molly, and I know of 2 other dogs and one cat named Molly so I'd have a hard time using it on a person. :b

I like it, it's kind of cute. Plus it doesn't really age like some of those sort of names do.

I think it's really an adorable name. I was think of a sweet, innocent girl when I here it. Still, it's not one of my favorites and I'd probably never use it.

It's my favorite name to use for girl Scottish terriers. Not a child

I love it, its sweet and very feminine to me. I feel like it goes well with my top 10 list (Grace, Maggie, Lily, Emma, Olivia, Isabelle, Audrey, Ava, Esme, Lauren) but DH doesn't feel it. Oh well, thats why I get my Maggie instead.

Really? Some of you think Molly sounds like a nn? I cannot for the life of me figure out what it could be a nn for! Mollyn? Molliana? Mollexandra? I would never think of it as a nn, so I'm just curious!Anya

Molly was originally a nn for Mary as far as I know. The shortness of the name and the -y/-ie ending also makes it nicknameish - at least to me.

I love Molly and it sounds best paired with an Irish last name.

I find it homely, comfy. Not my style. I feel that way about most pet forms as full names (Jack, Molly, Kate, Katie, Ellie ... etc etc etc). Not sophisticated at all. I don't care for it. I find it an unflattering sounding name - not at all pretty. I also find it immature sounding.
