Hertzler for a boy.
What do you think of Hertzler for a boy? It just came to mind yesterday. :) And what possible short forms could you use for it? I myself can only think of Hes, Hez or Herry right now, prompting me to think that the full name is better to use in daily life than a short form. Thanks for your input. :)

I dont like it at all. It's not very nice sounding, plus it reminds me of Hertz rent-a-car, or the word "hurts." I wouldnt use it.

Hertzler is wierd and nerdy sounding, plus is contains the word "hertz". I wouldn't use it. However, for nns there is Hertz, Hert, Hertle, Lerry, Heler as well.

Sorry but Hertzler is NMS.

I don't like English surnames as first names and German names certainly aren't better. Besides what I read in other people's comments so far the English pronounciation sounds weird (I don't hear the word hurt in that name, sorry).

It don't like it. The only nickname I could think of is Hertz (hurts)

not a good ideaIt's very much a last name, and not of the Anglo-Saxon type that is so common to use as first names now. It's very German-ish, and I believe there are a lot of Amish/Mennonite people with Hertzler as a last name.So it would be kind of like using the name Stolzfuss or Yoder as a first name. Also, the only nn that comes to mind for me is Hertz. As in rental cars. Or hurts.

I don't like it at all. It looks like either 1) an existing surname that shouldn't be a first name because it looks terribly pretentious or 2) a surname someone made up to sound like an existing surname that shouldn't be a first name because it sounds terribly pretentious. Plus, the only thing I see when I look at it is "heckler".A possible short form might be Rez.

To be honest I don't like it at all. It looks like a surname that shouldn't be a first name.
A possible short form could be Hert.
