i saw this spelling of Marilyn the other day. I think it is kind of pretty. It looks a bit like Evelyn, which I really like.

What do you think? Pretty? Tryndee? Ugly?

I dislike this spelling. It looks like "mere Lyn" to me. Marilyn looks a lot better.

Well, it's okay. I think the pronunciation is ambiguous. At first I read it as "MEER-lyn." I think I'd prefer Merilyn.

My daughters name is Marilyn... When I see Merelyn I wouldn't even pronounce it the same way.
Mare-uh-lyn vs. Mere-lyn.

I don't like it.

I isn't my style. But my aunt's name is Marilyn, so anything else looks weird to me.

I guess I just don't see the point. I would pronounce Merelyn exactly the same as Marilyn. So why burden your child with having to spell out her name all her life?
