Mercedes
I can't get Mercedes out of my head. As Emil Jellinek, the creator of Mercedes-Benz who named the car for his daughter, simply put it: "The name is both exotic and attractive. It can be easily pronounced and it sounds good." Agreed! But the thing is, the car association might be too strong for me. Thoughts on that, and could you suggest some first names to go with the mn Mercedes? Thank you! :)Oh, and by the way, I probably couldn't use it with Ferdinand: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdinand_Porsche

I love Mercedes. I think it's beautiful and exotic. Also, on a really random note, I looove how Mercedes looks when it's actually hand-written out. Something about it--I don't know it just looks so flowy...or maybe wither I'm weird or it's just my handwriting:)

Mercedes is gorgeous. I know a woman named Maria Mercedes who goes by her mn, so I don't have such a strong car association as most. I've always thought that Mercedes, nn Mercy would make a terrific fn.But now for what you asked for:Olivia Mercedes
Liv Mercedes
Livia Mercedes
Lilia Mercedes
Lydia Mercedes
Adriana Mercedes ("ah-dree-AH-na")
Veronica Mercedes
Aurelia Mercedes
Nicola Mercedes ("NIC-uh-la")
Evelina Mercedes

Celia Mercedes
Vivien Mercedes
Rosa Mercedes
Isidora Mercedes
Emanuela Mercedes
Angelica Mercedes
Renata Mercedes

Sylvia / Silvia Mercedes

Wow, what a list! You're right, Mercedes is quite versatile. Out of these I was especially attracted to:
Lydia Mercedes
Veronica Mercedes
Evelina Mercedes - This could work as a tribute to my grandmother Evelyn :)
Elena Mercedes - Adore the sound of this.
Rosa Mercedes - Ooh, I've been trying to find a great Rosa combo for a while. This is a great idea!
Renata Mercedes
Estella Mercedes
Emerald Mercedes - Esmeralda Mercedes? Too much?
Tamar Mercedes
Frederica Mercedes - So strong sounding!Montserrat is wonderful; I thought it was on my PNL for a while, actually, but I suppose not! =P *adds to list* I'd heard of it from the operatic singer Montserrat Caballé, and it sounded so strong I couldn't resist. Thanks so much for all of your suggestions; I definitely have much to think about! :D

I love Mercedes. In fact, one of my fave girl combos is Carmen Mercedes. People either think that that is too Hispanic/Spanish sounding, or that it sounds like something a car freak would name their child. (Carmengea (sp) and Mercedes-Benz)
So my suggestion for a fn is Carmen. But that's my combo. : p

Thank you! I've never heard of Zala, but Zala Mercedes is lovely. Check out that meaning! I also really like the sound of Phoebe Mercedes. :D

I have to admit that I only think of the car when I hear Mercedes. Because of that I would never use it. It is ok as a middle name though and I like short first names with Mercedes.Alexa Mercedes
Anna Mercedes
Leah Mercedes
Hannah Mercedes
Lydia Mercedes
Livia Mercedes
