I don't particularly like it for either gender, sorry.I pronounce it the way mirfak and Aquagal do. Also, my husband and I used to live in a development named Sequoia, and I never heard it pronounced any other way. (This was in Colorado.)

It's one of my favorites (though I'm probably a bit chicken to actually use it) for a girl. I think it has a beautiful sound and I love the nature imagery associated with it. Also cool is that it has one of each of the vowels.I think it would be a bit much for the average boy to pull off, so I definitely prefer it for a girl.

It seems better suited on a girl to me. I pronounce it seh-KWOI-ah.

I'm from California and I also have always said it seh-KWOY-a. Although I guess technically, that's incorrect, and the QU is like a K not a KW.On a boy in particular, I tend to think of it as a Cherokee name.

It's pronounced si-KOI-yah. I don't really like it, but I'm also not really into particularly naturey names. I think it seems more like a girl's name though.

I personally prefer this name for a girl, but it would work for a boy. You do have it spelled right. I say suh-Koi-yuh.Sequoia Jude
