I love Eirene and Irene. I much prefer the Greek pronunciations.

I love it! It used to be a favourite on my PNL. It's a nice, rarer alternative to Irene. I've always thought for some reason that it was pronounced eh-REN-ee, after watching a character's name on a tv programme be pronounced that way. The original Greek pronunciation isn't bad either.

I would prefer the pronounciation closer to Irene, but I like the different spelling; it reminds me of Eire, traditional name of Ireland.

I think Irene/Eirene is a very pretty name. I would use it as a middle name however. How about Clara Irene?

I love Irene, and I'm using it as a mn because it's almost every family members (female) mn on my mums side. I think Irene looks more interesting, because E initials are more common than E ones, but either spelling would make me happy.
