Amarante is lovely. I've been attracted to it too. My only hesitation is I'm not quite sure whether the authentic spelling is Amarante or Amaranthe? And Pronuciation is still a bit of a hurdle for me. I don't know whether it's Sanskrit, Greek, French. I really want to use this name, but my ignorance holds me back. Any information that you have would be very much appreciated. As for combinations / siblings, how about:Amarante Celeste
Amarante Valerie
Amarante Noe"l
Amarante Catherine
Amarante Liv
Amarante Charlotte
Amarante Laurel
Amarante Fleur
Amarante Jacinthe
Amarante Pilar
Amarante Inez
Amarante Chloe

It's greek. I asked Pavlos a while back about it.As for the spelling, eh...I like it as Amarante. Things change over the centuries - Katharine is now kath-ryn, not kath-a-ryne. ;-)I really love:
Amarante Verity - unfading truth is a neat idea

Thanks. :-)Lacking restraint, I often type before I do my own research. I was able to use the link to BtN's info. It makes perfect sense that it's a Greek name with the "-anthos" root in there. Glad you liked those girl combos. Now that you mention the name, Amarante and Pavlos look pretty dashing together as siblings. Yes?
