wdyto Marianne?
I'm starting to really like it, and in this spelling. I like Mary Anne too but I could never use a double Mary name spelled like this. Do you think Marianne looks misspelled? I think of Marianne Dashwood, so it seems pretty legit to me.

I prefer the spelling of Marianne to Mary Anne. My name is prn like Marianne (and I know it's not supposed to be, ok) and I have always hated it. Everyone says, "like Gilligan's Island?" and sings the song. And if you remember the book series The Babysitter's Club, the lamest character was Mary-Anne. Lately I've been liking my name more though. Maybe with enough people liking it, it will have a comeback...

I don't think it looks misspelled, but I do think it's very dated, bland and unattractive. I hate Mary Anne with a passion.Like Siri, I much prefer Mariana (mah-ree-AH-nah), which is lovely.

I think of George Eliot...Who was actually a Marianne. I far prefer Mariana, pronounced the Spanish way - mahr-ree-ahna. It's quite pretty, and very old-fashioned.
I find Mary Anne very, very prissy (even though I know one and she isn't), but Marianne is sweet.

Huh...I wiki'd here, and it's spelt Mary Ann (Marian), but I've only ever seen it Marianne. Weird.
