I'd say AY-lah, "ay" like the letter A. I really don't care for it--it seems very trendy and flimsy.

It can be AY (long A) + lah or EYE-lah (like Isla). I love the EYE-lah pronunciation, but much prefer Isla to Ayla. Obviously. :b AY-lah is pretty but the name LOOKS made-up and trendy, like Kayla without the A, even though it's a legit name. I like the sound but not the look of it (Aila wouldn't work either). :-/

I pronounce it with a long a like Kayla or Kay: AY-la.
It's pretty enough, but it feels made up. There are so many names that fit the same trendy pattern, like Kayla, Jayla, and Tayla, and even more that fit a larger trend of sticking a short first syllable on the -lyn, -lee, or -la sound and calling it a name. They're all boring at this point.
I also associate it with the Clan of the Cave Bear novels which doesn't do the name any favors, imo.

I know it has legitimate roots but it looks so trendy to me, sort od the uber-Ayla to be joined by its minions Kayla, Jayla, Tayla, Layla, Shayla and probably Sayla, Zayla, Brayla etc and take over the world (or fight it out with the -AydenArmy to become the ultimate AY sound :p ).
It's a pity because it's not a bad name.

Please use proper capitalization when you write. It's one of the rules of the mesage boards, and makes it easier to read.
I would pronounce Ayla as AY-la. I dislike the name. It has a nicknamey feel to it that I don't care for. It also follows the drop a letter trend of Mikayla-Kayla-Ayla or Maddison-Addison. I doubt it would age well and will sound quite dated in the not so distant future.
