WDYTO Belle?
I've debated for a while whether or not I think this is a suitable name by itself (ie- not short for Annabelle, Isabelle, etc.), but now I'm starting to think about using it.
WDYT?

Love it. It's just such a pretty name and I love the Disney connection, as Beauty and the Beast is my fave Disney movie and Belle is my fave Disney princess! So gorgeous.

I think that Belle is fantastic as a first name on it's own : )Very pretty and classy sounding.

I've been thinking about this name a lot lately too. Mostly because of the show "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" lol. Oh well, I still like it quite a bit. I've been thinking Campbell nn Belle, though it doesn't really have that BELL sound at the end. I think it may be okay to stand on its own for some.

I like it sooooooooooo much better than Bella, which to me sounds like bellow or belly, not great associations for a little girl's name. Belle is really cute.

No, I don't like it. I think it's flimsy and cutesy and oh-so-precious. So sweet it makes my teeth hurt. I like pretty names for girls, but they need to have more substance than the meaning "pretty" in Italian.

hmmm... i think i like bella better. belle is ok, and it has a good meaning-beautiful-but i like the sound of bella better.

It's sooooooo cutesy, fluffy and insubstantial. Also, it's like naming your daughter Beautiful. I find it tacky and prissy. It's cute as a nickname, though.

I adore it - it's stunning. It's really growing on me but I think I would probably use it as a nickname for Isabella. I may acutally use it now thinking about it!

I absolutely adore Belle. I think it's feminine without being frilly and makes me think of a smart, strong, and intelligent woman. I much prefer it as a full name as Annabelle, Isabelle etc. are venturing into frilliness.

I love the spelling Bell, it's at the top of my own list, and Belle with the 'e' is very pretty, much prettier than any than Isabella or Annabella or any of those -belle or -bella names.
