This name is on my shortlist. I love it. So much zippier than Sylvia. It was the name of a French penfriend I had as a teenager.

I like Sylvie a lot; it reminds me of Sylvie Guillem who is one of the greatest ballet dancers in history. I actually prefer Sylvia, for which Sylvie could be a nn.Sylvie and Ramona make a cute sibset and sound a bit better together than Sylvia and Ramona would.

I love Sylvie :D It sounds very elegant, and as though it could work on someone of any age. There's nothing wrong with Sylvie and Ramona, except that personally I hate Ramona because of the MOAN sound.

I adore it but only as as nickname for Sylvia. It's way, way too cutesy and fluffy as a full name, even though it's legit as one. I can't stand Ramona, sorry, and Sylvia and Ramona sound better as sisters.

Sylvie is adorable and sweet. I like it because it has a similar sound to Sylvia, without sounding too much like someone from Brooklyn (I don't know why Sylvia seems like someone from Brooklyn but it does to me). Sylvie and Ramona makes a wonderful sibset Sylvie and Mona would be cute too.

I think Sylvie is just adorable on a little girl, and it suits a grown woman just fine, too.I really don't care for Ramona in the sibset, though.

Gorgeous! It is much more democratic than a bit frilly and snobbish Sylvia, which is quite adorable too. Sylvie has some kind of lively and breezy style! I also like Silvie. Some mn's (most of the three-syllable names look nice with S.) :
Sylvie Adelaida
Sylvie Arabella
Sylvie Winona
Sylvie Raimonda
Sylvie Grazia
Sylvie Ravenna
Sylvie Roxana
Sylvie Dorothea
Sylvie Alexandra
Sylvie Medea :)
Sylvie Meredith
Sylvie Barbara - Strong names fit well with Sylvie
Sylvie Morwenna
Sylvie Muriel
Sylvie Aurelia - I like this combo really much because the both names honour famous French Ballerinas- Sylvie Guillem and Aurelie Dupond.
Sylvie Nevena
Sylvie Felicia
Sylvie Mercedes
Sylvie Andromeda
Sylvie Cassandra

A lovely list of names. Sylvie Aurelia reminds me of Sylvia Plath and her mother Aurelia. A sad story, but the idea of these two names linked warms my heart, even with the variant. I'm not familiar with the ballerinas you mentioned, but I agree these names just feel so right together. Very nicely done.

I adore Sylvie. I don't know why it isn't more popular. It's spunky, yet still an authentic name in its own right. Sylvie and Ramona sound like sisters to me. Very nice. known, but not overly used. Perfect.

I like the name, but I'm going bet on a number of people not pronouncing it correctly. The sibset works.
