Blue?
I know I just posted. But I forgot that I wanted to post about a name I heard today. Cerulean, which is a color of blue. The parents both loved the color blue and only seen it fit to name thier new son this. They thought blue for a boy. So they went with a name that is the color blue "Cerulean".Now I know some of you on this board would love this name. I also know that others on this board would hate it. So which is it for you?Thumbs up or Thumbs down for the name Cerulean?Thank you for your replies. Please still reply to my other post as well. I appreciate that.

I think no matter what, as long as it sounds good with the last name, you should go with it. We're on the other end of it...if we have a boy we're going to name him Indigo, so the more blue names out there, the more accepted they'll become. Also, most names get shortened either by family or by their friends, so think about what might happen to it, and if you still like it in all forms, everyone else will get used to it and they can piss off :)

I hated that crayon! Not as much as cornflower though. They were deceiving. They looked like normal blue but when you colored with them they were some crazy blue.As a name, however, Cerulean seems a bit heavy and strange. If you were to use it, it would definitely need a nickname. I can't think of one though.

Cerulean I really don't like. It just doesn't seem like a name to me. I will admit that Blue (for a mn) is a bit of a GP of mine, but Cerulean is taking the whole blue thing a little too far.

It's a GP for meSame thing for Indigo and Blue. I think combined they'd make nice pet names, but I wouldn't give it to a child. I don't really mind Cerulean being used as a name, it better than a lot of the creative names we sometimes see in the BA's.

I give it a thumbs up, because it's cool, but not over the top. It technically DOES sound like a name. It's not like naming your kid Printer or anything lmao! I like it.

I actually like the sound of Cerulean but woulds never use it as a first name, could make an interesting middle name though

Cerulean is on my list for a girl

great name for a dog...Not a good name for a person. "Judge Blue OConnor." Senator Blue Gonzales, D-Nev." "Dr. Blue Goldstein, M.D." "Blue Sutherland, Attorney at Law." "Mr. Blue Snodgrass, high school science teacher."

Indigo, yes. Blue, no.

What makes indigo any better than blue?

I don't like the sound of blue as a name, but I like Indigo.

No they named him Cerulean which is a form of blue. They didn't actually name him blue. But your right Indigo is another good blue color name.

Whoops. Cerulean makes me think of a few things. My favorite shade of blue as a kid, and Cerulean City from Pokemon.Either way, not liking it as a name.

Thumbs down. I dislike color names like Ruby, Violet, Lavender, although Grey is a GP of mine, but only as a MN for a boy.

Blue as a name? Hate it.Cerulean as a name? Hate it. Cerulean sounds especially pretentious. I try to be as much of an intellectual snob as I can. But this is even too much for me.

Agreed.Blue is a nice colour, but when used on people it makes them sound miserable!

I think it sounds pretty cool and is definitely nicer than some other colour names I've seen, but I'd never use it.
