Octavius
So... I watched A Night at the Museum for the first time last night, and I have fallen in love with the name Octavius. What do you think? Is it too Roman-ish to be used? Should it be a middle name?I think I'm in the middle of a Greek/Roman name kick right now. They REALLY appeal to me...ETA: Forgot the hyperlinks again.

I like it, but much prefer Octavian. I don't think either of them's too much - long and honourable history, and they can always go for Tay or Tavi (or Tavian if applicable) if they decide that the full four syllables are too much.Just working from your profile list, wdyt of:Andrew Octavius
Corin Octavius
Matthew Octavius
Octavius Peter
Octavius Conrad

I love Octavius, though oddly enough I'm not wild about Octavia. I think it's because Octavious reminds me of an uber muscular commander of a Roman army. Though I wouldn't consider it too Roman at all. It's simply unique, but isn't unheard of in the least. I couldn't even describe how thrilled I'd be if I met a child named Octavious. I think I'd seriously ask the parents if they were members of BtN. After a brief episode of jumping up and down and squealing, that is.

It's an epic name!Yeah, I'm using one of the words that should be added to my vocabulary, according to your sig. :-PThe more I say Octavius, the more I'm falling head-over-heels in love with it. How do you think the sibset Cora and Octavius would work?

I really like Octavius. I fell in love with Octavia but one of my exes didn't like it but liked Octavian and Octavius. I completely forgot about these names since the break up. Thanks for reminding me.And I wanted to use Octavius as a middle name, but it would work as a first name in my opinion. I like unpopular but heard of names.

A bit too Roman-ish to me but keep in mind I study Classical Studies and have spent my afternoon revising Augustus' (Octavian / Octavius) rule. However, I do adore August...I adore Octavia though. Beautiful.

I don't really like it. It is very Roman-ish. I think it would be better as a middle name.

its a bit much, really. i think greek/roman works better on girls than boys. it would be GP for me. you could possibly use it as a mn.

I like Octavia, but somehow I feel like Octavius is too much. Maybe as a middle name, but it's a little too Roman for a first name, I think.
