Marigold?
WDYT? It suddenly occured to me, and I really like it for a few reasons. One, there are a lot of Marys in my family tree, or forms of Mary, so I've been thinking a lot about using Mary or something with Mary in it to honor them. Two, gold was one of my school colors in high school. My high school was really important to me, and so any name that reminds me of it is a plus.Three, my favorite opening line to a song ever is the first line of "Life in Rain" by Remy Zero which begins "I once had marigolds for eyes // that seemed to fade on sunny days." I absolutely adore that line.Any combo suggestions, comments, anything? I think I would probably use it as a middle name, but I think it's workable as a fn, too. I really like Helena Marigold, but that's getting really obsessively "Life in Rain" (part of the song is just "Helena" - pron. HEL-en-a, like Helen with an a on the end - repeated over and over). I haven't thought much about any other combos (though I kind of like Colette Antonia Marigold), so I'll take any suggestions you want to throw my way.

Ah!This was a new add to my list. Sadly even wanting it in the middle name slot. Hubby vetoed it.

Marigold is definitely a GP of mine. On my short list, I've had it paired as a mn with Eva and Leah. I first read of a character named Anna Marigold several years ago and was hooked on the name and the flower. My porch is now covered in marigolds every Spring. ;-)

Oh, I always love your combos. :)I love all the ones with Marigold as a fn. Marigold Melody is particularly cool - I like the alliteration and the repeated sounds.I also really like Chloe Marigold and Glory Marigold. I like the sound of Honey Marigold but I don't think I would be inclined to use Honey as a first name. It's a really sweet combo, though. :D

I love Mary, Mary names, and most names that start with Mari or Mar. Marigold wouldn't be my favourite of such names but I do like it. It sounds fresh and interesting. I do agree that it would probably be better as a mn, but workable as a fn.Helena Marigold - I like this. I don't know the song so I wouldn't make the connection. Good combo.Colette Antonia Marigold - Not a fan of Colette but the name has a nice flow. I like Antonia Marigold better. My suggestionsMarigold Lucille

I really like Marigold Katherine (though I prefer the Catharine spelling), Marigold Lucia, and Rachel Marigold. I like Marigold Nathalie reversed (and spelled Natalie, the Nathalie spelling always makes me want to say NATH-a-lee).Thanks!
