Zuleika
What are your first impressions of Zuleika [zoo-LAY-kuh]? Is it too "weird" as a first name? I love the sound and meaning, but am worried about it being too "out there." What do you think about Zuzu as a nickname?

I used to work with a ZuleikaShe went by Zuli as a nn...kind of sounded like Julie which made it pretty practical. I don't think she ever had any trouble with it being too out there.

I absolutely love Zuleika! Since I have a multitude of family names I wish to use, I really want to use it for a cat. I don't think it is too out there. I went to school and worked with a girl and Zuleika was her middle name. Her first name was Kelly, she was born in England, and was blonder than me. She loved the name and was quite proud of it, so I wouldn't worry if I were you. I prefer the full name to any nickname, but Zuzu is cute.

I think that it's cool (I like z names), but I think that it would be better pronounced as zoo-LIE-kuh.
I would like hearing it as a first name even if it is a little weird.
I don't really like Zuzu. It sounds cutesy and I think Zuleika would be fine without a nickname.
