Met an Eachann a few weeks ago at a family gathering,
She pronounced it: "Ee-Shaan"

Oh Lordie...That pronunciation makes me cringe. I'm pretty sure it's ech-an, with the gutteral ch, pronounced like in loch. I don't know which syllable the stress is on, though. It's definitely masculine and I can't even imagine it on a girl.

You met a FEMALE Eachann?!And she pronounced it that way? Never seen that before, and hopefully never will again. I do like it on a boy pronounced the Scottish way, though. I especially liked it during my Celtic phase last summer :D.

She? Don't like it for a girl. It's all male to me. I really like the meaning and I would love to met a boy/man named Eachann. But is that the correct pronunciation?

It's alright. I don't like it on a girl though-- too masculine.
