I prefer Sylvia, if only because I became familiar with that spelling first, so it seems 'right' to me.I actually like Sylvie a lot better though.

I love both, but I think I would use Silvia because it is the original. Then again, Sylvia is the most common spelling in English. I've always been a bit on the fence about that one. Today I am leaning towards Silvia.

I guess I prefer the look of Sylvia, though I'm more used to Silvia.

I constantly vacillate between Sylvia and Silvia...I currently prefer Sylvia, though I'm sure I'll revert back to Silvia next week.

Sylvia, it looks prettier, but I'd choose Sylvie ♥ over all of them!

SilviaI like the visual connection with Silver that is has. I also like the way it looks written that way.

Upon consideration, Silvia. I love it, though, spelled either way. The Silvia spelling just better emphasizes the cool, silvery qualities of the name.

Sylvia, because it's so familiar, and Silvia, although used by Shakespeare and evocative of silver (and therefore lovely), would be misspelled.
I can just hear the plaintive "Silvia with an i" all through her life, although I have to admit that Silvia is a tempting spelling because it seems so much fresher than Sylvia.
I think I'd stick to the gallic Sylvie - I love it!

I'm back and forth on Sylvie. I really like it, but then I keep thinking it's too nicknamey. I've been campaigning against the nickname-as-name thing for ages (e.g., Abby, Nell, Kate, Tim, Joe, Will, etc. as full names), and Sylvie seems to fall into this category.

Ah, but I think the fact it's French saves it from the nn category.
I once had a French penfriend from Marseilles called Sylvia (not Sylvie).

Sylvia! Only because that's my mum's name and I'm used to it. When I try to see it objectively, definitely Silvia. I almost always prefer Is over Ys.
