Meggie
I just watched Inkheart for the first time. I've never read the book. The girl is called Meggie. I'm not sure if it's her full name or a nn, but wdyto Meggie as a nn for Margaret? I'm torn between Meg and Maggie. Meggie might be a good compromise.

I adore Meggie but I fear I'm one of the few. My dh dislikes it. Actually, I like Meg too but with our one-syllable surname, Meggie is the better complement. My only prob is that it sounds like Maggie and people might assume her name is Maggie. Still, Meggie needs to be revived!

I love Meggie but prefer it as a nn to Megan more than Margaret

I think that Meggie is an adorable nickname for Margaret. I also like Meg. I HATE Maggie.

I've considered Meggie before because I would use Maggie and Meg as nicknames for Margaret (which we plan to use). My only concern is that people would mishear/misread it as Maggie all the time and would have to be corrected. But I think it's cute and for sure could be used on a little girl.

It's okay. The only reason I like it is because of that series though.

I think it makes a cute nn. It's a little bit cutesy, but Margaret has other nn options and is very mature on its own, so it is versatile if the child decides that they don't want to use Meggie anymore. Good choice IMO.
