Saffron and Leona?
I've recently rediscovered Saffron which I like. Leona, on the otherhand, i've liked for quite a while. Opinions on these names?

I like Saffron, even though I think of curry. Mmmm....Leona seems a bit dated, but still usable. I'm not really a fan.

nmsaa, yet I like them together. They would be a cute sibset, but probably not one I'd use.:)

Saffron is kind of cute; I think it's more common in the U.K. (maybe as a snobby name??) than the U.S. But I keep thinking of a spice. And Leona makes me think of Leona Helmsley, who wasn't a nice lady. :b But I think both names are nice, uncommon but not too out there imo.

Saffron as a name says to me "I'm trying to be British chic". As the only 2 Saffrons I've ever heard of are the daughter Saffron from the Brit show "Absolutely Fabulous" and Saffron LeBon, daughter of Simon and Yasmin LeBon.And Leona - I can only think of Leona Helmsley.

Leona is a pretty name. I don't really care for Saffron. It sounds harsh to me, and it doesn't really remind me of a person's name.

I love Leona. It's so pretty and underused. Saffron is more of a guilty pleasure name for me. I think it's cool but maybe a little tacky. It reminds me of the daughter in "Ab Fab"._____________________________________________________________________Elinor'Why do people with closed minds, always open their mouths?'

To quote Donovan (to whom I'm listening at this very moment!), I'm just mad about Saffron. Awesome name, that. It's sunny and cute without being too cutesy--makes me think of the song "Mellow Yellow," if you couldn't already guess. I like the nickname Saffy, but it could definitely work without one, too.Leona's fine for other people, but I could never use it--weird (bad) associations. You know what would sound nice? Saffron Leona. Otherwise, I like Saffron Calliope, Saffron Jeannette, Saffron Fenella, Saffron Teresa, Saffron Clare, Saffron Bernadette, Saffron Renee...Array
