I think it's too cutesy, and won't age well as a first name.

I agree with Dracotorix - it's striking, but it doesn't summon up much of a "respect me" feeling. I prefer the similar Philippa, with the nickname Pippa or Pip. I suppose you could use Piper as a pet form for that too.

Sounds peppy and energetic. I wouldn't use it, though, because it doesn't age that good.
