I was going to say "Mikkel is a Scandiavian form of Michael" - but he's pronouncing it Michael? Hmmm...

Maybe the 'rents were trying to be "kreatyve" or something. If they spelling is like that, I would've pr. it meh-KELL.

I agree with Capucine. Its traditionally a Scandinavian form of Michael pronounced (MIK-kel). Maybe he was from another country but changed the pronunciation because it was easier.
