What are your thoughts on Jess for a boy?

Jesse seldom happens where I live, and then only in heavy evangelical families, but Jess is short for Jessica pretty frequently; I know a girl of about 20 who was named Jess. Depends on the neighbourhood, probably, but I would avoid Jess as a boy's only name. Short for Jesse, if you find Jesse acceptable, it'd be fine.

Jess might be okay, but I'm highly against Jesse.
No clue why.I met a boy names Jessup once though and I kind of love it.Jess is cool.

Sounds fine as a nickname. Actually that's true for Jess on a girl or guy.

Well, my brother's name is Jesse. He was named after our great-grandfather, who died three months before he was born.I've always seen it as a warm, friendly sort of name. Everyone loves my brother, so I can't see a Jesse/Jess being disliked. I know I'm biased, though.
