My husband met a lady with this name the other day. When he said it, I thought it sounded so pretty.
I have since found out that it is the name of a Mexican state, could be related to the Sonoran desert, and is the name of a once famous horse diver. Sonora Webster (look her up she is interesting)
Anyway.... WDYT of Sonora ?
I like it as Sonora Lillie and Sonora Camille.

I had a 12-year-old in the show I directed this summer named Sonora. She said her dad named her for the Sonoran Desert (we live in AZ). It's not bad, but I'm not a huge fan of place names.

To me, makes me think of cacti, gila monsters, diamondbacks, and deserts. I would use it.... for a pet cactus.

That was like my obsessively favourite movie as a kid. Horse diver extraordinare! Therefore I like it a lot.
Sonora Arnette seems really old-west-cool. Arnette was her sister's name, does that make it weird? Sonora Wynette maybe?
Sonora Lucille is actually really appealing to me as well.

Lol, mine too. I also really loved A Farr Off Place and Man in the Moon. I used to watch those three movies all the time. :D

There is a movie about Sonora Webster called Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken. I love that movie! I used to love the name. I still like it, I just don't love it anymore. :)
